How long a session lasts

Thirty minutes idle, eight hours at the outside — and the eight hours are not extended by using it. Band C acts — release, action, export and destruction — need the authenticator touched again within five minutes, however recently you signed in. Reading decrypted evidence is different: this same sign-in touch unlocks it for the whole session, so it does not need repeating.

You will not be dropped without warning: a notice appears a couple of minutes before either limit, and anything typed and not yet saved is held and comes back with you.
